Using Gift Cards in the Wallet

The steps for using a gift card in your wallet will vary depending on the type of gift card used. Be sure to read the instructions in the app carefully when using your gift cards.  The app will give detailed information on how to successfully use each type of card. Some of the most popular types are listed below as examples.

Types of gift cards:

• Cards that use a security code
• Cards that use a PIN
• Cards that use a barcode

Cards that use a security code:

Example. Amazon Gift Cards

1. Tape the 'Use this card' button on the gift card on the Wallet tab.
   
2. The card will flip to reveal a redemption code that will be copied to your device's clipboard. Tap the 'Redeem this card' button.
   NOTE: Once the card is flipped to show the code, it can't be flipped back. The code will remain displayed in your wallet to show that the card has been accessed. If you decide to redeem the card at a later time, this is the code that you need to enter when prompted.
   
   
3. You will be directed to a website to redeem the gift card. Tap the 'View rewards credentials' button.
   
4. Tap the 'Unlock' button.
   
   
   
5. Enter the redemption code that was displayed on the flipped card in your wallet and tap the 'Unlock' button.
   
   
   
6. Tap the 'Copy' icon to copy the claim code and follow the instructions provided to add the gift card to your Amazon account.
   

Cards that use a PIN:

Example: Doordash gift cards

1. Tap the 'Use this card' button on the gift card on the Wallet tab.
   
2. Follow the instructions in the app and use the PIN provided when prompted. Tap the 'Copy' button to save the PIN to your device's clipboard to make entering it easier.
   

Cards that use a barcode:

1. Tap the 'Use this card' button on the gift card on the Wallet tab.
   
   
2. You will be directed to a website with the bar code to redeem in store, as well as the gift card number and PIN to redeem online. You can also save it to your device's wallet to use later.
